Enrollment for the 24-25 school year is open! 

Our lottery event was held on March 28 at 4:30pm but we do have some openings and short wait lists for those applying now!

AWCL is currently enrolling Kindergarten to 8th Grade for the 2023-2024 school year!
We will have 3 grade-level classrooms and 4 multi-aged classrooms:Kindergarten - 20 students1st Grade Classroom - 20 first graders2nd Grade Classroom - 20 second graders2 - 3rd-4th Mixed-grade classrooms - 20 third graders and 20 fourth graders2 - 5th-6th Mixed-grade classrooms - 20 fifth graders and 20 sixth graders2 - 7th-8th Mixed-grade classrooms - 20 seventh graders and 20 eighth graders
Enrollment Information:AWCL is a publicly funded charter school and as such will enroll any eligible pupil who submits a timely application, unless the number of applications exceeds the capacity of a program, class, grade level, or building. In this case, pupils will be accepted by lot, to be conducted annually in February.AWCL has a non-discrimination policy that states that no one shall be treated differently, separately, or have any action directly affecting him or her taken on the basis of race, religion, national origin, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or disability where a person is otherwise qualified or could be with reasonable accommodation.AWCL will give preference for enrollment to dependents of school staff, to siblings of enrolled pupils, and to foster siblings of the parents or an enrolled pupil before accepting other pupils by lot.A student continuing will be re-enrolled for the next year without re-application.Lottery Process:
  1.  A completed enrollment application is required for each student in order to be included in the annual lottery and/or placed on the waiting list, by March 18 at 5pm.
  2. If it is determined that a lottery is necessary, letters will be mailed within 10 business days of the closing of the application deadline, February 18. This letter will include the specific date, time and location of the lottery as well as confirm the lottery is open to the public. The date will be posted on our school calendar and on the school website.
  3. A Board of Directors representative will conduct the lottery using a randomized lottery process to determine enrollment and waiting lists at each level.
  4. Enrollment offers will be sent by mail and/or email to all families that are awarded a spot through the enrollment process.
  5. All other families will receive notification of their waiting list position.
  6. Students will remain on the waiting list until the next enrollment period. In order to be considered for enrollment the following year, families must re-submit their application by February 18 to be included in the lottery process.
